Eco Friendly Jewellery Recommendation

Eco Friendly Jewellery Recommendation

What to Look for

When it comes to jewellery, the sourcing of the materials is often the most unsustainable part of the process and traceability of those materials is a growing concern in the jewellery industry. So we suggest consciously looking at company’s policies around sustainable and ethical sourcing of their materials. Try to choose companies which use recycled materials.

Similarly to clothing, there is a lot of cheaply-made jewellery that will last a very short amount of time before being thrown into landfill. Once in landfill, the plastic and metal don’t biodegrade and instead release dangerous toxins into the air and water. This is why we would always recommend higher-quality jewellery that will last a lifetime and possibly beyond!

As well as choosing brands which produce durable jewellery, consider their approach to repairs incase any damages occur. Repairing your existing items is always more sustainable than purchasing something new.
